Lend a Helping Hand to Typhoon Victims

After Typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines, one of our Social Media Strategists ignited ProSites to lend a helping hand. She found that LBC, a major shipping company in the Philippines, was offering to ship relief donations for FREE!

As a team, we pulled together to donate tons of household items including food, blankets, mosquito nets, and many other life essentials. When devastation strikes, it’s easy to bow your head and wish others well, but it’s just as easy to contribute to the cause of making them well.

We’d like to encourage you to send relief to the recent victims of Typhoon Haiyan too. To find a local LBC office and take advantage of their free shipping, you can visit their website at Alternatively, you can also donate to the Red Cross or UNICEF.

“No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.”

― Charles Dickens

If your office contributed to relief efforts in some way, we want to hear about it! Please share your endeavors in the comments below.

3 Ways Facebook Insights Shows Success

When marketing your practice on social media, it can be difficult to determine whether or not your efforts are improving your marketing strategy, particularly with Facebook. If your practice is active on Facebook, you may begin to wonder, “How can I tell if it’s working?”

Facebook provides every page owner with in-depth analytics called Insights, which can help you determine the success of your social campaigns.

To access your page Insights, select “View Insights” from the top navigation menu of your page.

From here, you can view all analytics associated with your page, including:

The following three metrics are key to understanding the success of your social media marketing:

Likes – Understanding the trends in your page Likes can help you better acquire more Likes and can even help prevent losing them. Facebook allows you to track the dates of every Like or Unlike, enabling you to see which posts gain fans and which push fans away.

Reach – Your Reach statistics will show how your page is getting seen – via shares, comments, etc. Your Reach will also tell you when fans hide your posts or report you for spam, enabling you to adjust your future posts accordingly.

Posts – Post data allows you to see which days and times your page receives most of its traffic. It also allows you to see which types of posts receive the most engagement from your fans. Using this data to tailor future posts can help you increase the interest and interaction fans have with your page.

Website Design

4 Features to Consider in a Quality Web Host

When purchasing a new website, hosting is often excluded from the decision making process; many people tend to view hosting as a necessary service and pay no attention to the differences in web hosts.

In reality, your web host should be a primary concern in choosing a website provider. Your host should provide you with peace of mind, ensure up-time, and provide added benefits. In choosing to host your website with one company or another, here are some key things to consider:

1. Helpdesk Support

• Does your host provide it?

• Is there a fee for calling in?

• Do you get to speak to a live person?

• Are there multiple ways to receive help (i.e. phone, email, live chat, etc.)?

 2. Email Accounts

• How many email accounts are included with the service?

• Can you change the email addresses should you experience turnover?

• Are there fees charged to create additional accounts?

• Do they provide email support?

• Can you choose your preferred email client?

3. Features and Upgrades

• When Internet standards change, is your service updated?

• If design trends change, can you change your site design?

• Are there fees for updates and upgrades?

• How often do they improve their services?

4. Reliability

• Do they have positive reviews?

• What is their percentage of up-time?

• What is their customer retention rate?

• Are they a dedicated web host? Or are they cloud-based?

As you consider purchasing a new website or moving your existing website, be sure to ask potential providers these essential questions to ensure you’re getting the most for your money.
